Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
Fifteen years.
What is your primary product or service?
We specialize in wedding receptions and seasonal nightly dining with a view not found anywhere else.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I literally walked in for dinner one night and the building absolutely captivated me, I gave up a completely different life to work in this beautiful enviroment and have loved every day since.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We have no 'cookie cutter' for weddings, we want couples to have the day they imagined not a day we control. The restaurant buys local meats, produce and dry goods in an effort to do our part. We were the first Green Hotel in the area and now advise others on how to be green in the hospitality world.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have just one location, expanding would be impossible. Our location on the side of Prospect Mountain and the historic charm of the building lay the foundation for who we are.
Provide detailed directions to your location
Take hwy 36 to left on Elkhorn Ave. (the main street in town). Staying in the left lane, turn left onto Riverside Dr. (next main intersection in town). Go straight through two stop signs (following the river). 50 feet past the second stop sign, on the left is Audubon St. Turn left on Audubon St. and follow the signs up the hill.
What type of payments do you accept?
We accept MC, Visa, Discover and Amex
Which areas do you service?
We obviously have people from all over the world visiting us but most of our wedding business comes from Boulder, Longmont, Loveland, Greeley, Ft. Collins and Wyoming.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
The building is owned by ILX Resorts, Inc. based in Phoenix. The restaurant/banquet facility is owned locally by Kathy Kadlecek.
What are your hours of operation?
Hotel front desk hours are 8AM to 6PM everyday during the winter, 7AM to 10PM everyday during the summer. Restaurant is open May through November from 5 to 9 nightly.
