How long have you been in business?
Since 1978. That's 39 years in 2017.
What is your primary product or service?
Martial arts instruction is our primary service. We also sell martial arts equipment, uniforms, supplies.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
As a martial arts student as a teenager, came to love the arts, and when given the chance to teach, found that sharing martial arts with others became my passion. This passion persisted as I broadened my base completing my BS in art and physical education in college. Currently a 7th degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a former Golden Gloves boxer, and an instructor-level student in the IMB system.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We have been in business longer than any other martial arts school in town. We are a family-oriented school, with many entire families enrolled. Our owners are college-educated and designed our curriculum based on scientific principles. Our teachers have experience in regional & national level competition in forms, sparring, boxing, kick-boxing, and jiu-jitsu. All of our instructors are black belts with many years of experience, and love teaching.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Currently one location, no plans to expand at this time.

Mason Street is one block west of College Avenue, and Karate West is one block south of Horsetooth Road, on S. Mason Street, between Inner Strength climbing gym and Aamco Transmissions, on the west side of S. Mason Street.
What type of payments do you accept?
Cash, VISA, MC, Discover, AMEX, PayPal and checks with proper ID
Which areas do you service?
We are located in Fort Collins, so most students are from Fort Collins, but some come from Loveland, Windsor, Laporte, Bellvue, Wellington, Timnath, and Severance also. And we sell equipment and uniforms to people from all over.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Kim and Lou Anne Yee own and operate Karate West.
What are your hours of operation?
Weekdays open 11am - 2:00pm and 3:30pm - 8:30pm. Saturdays 8:30am - 2:00pm. Closed on Sundays
